Terms & Conditions

These terms govern use of Spencer County Recent Arrests and its search tools. By continuing to use the site, a visitor agrees to them. Anyone who does not accept these conditions should stop using the site.

This is a private reference, not a government office, sheriff, jail, court, or corrections department. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Neither this site nor a search partner acting through it provides consumer reports for credit, employment, insurance, housing, tenant screening, or any other FCRA-covered decision.

A Private Reference Service

Spencer County Recent Arrests organizes links and general instructions for public sources. It does not keep official arrest reports, booking files, jail rosters, court dockets, or corrections records. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, accept bond, or file a request with an agency.

Spencer County has no county-operated jail. A local arrest may involve the Spencer County Sheriff or Taylorsville Police Department, transport to Shelby County Detention Center, and a later Spencer County court record. Kentucky Department of Corrections systems cover a different stage. Links help visitors reach those separate sources but do not merge them into one official record.

Rules for Acceptable Use

Access is offered only for lawful, respectful use. By using the site, each visitor agrees:

  • not to break a law or violate another person's rights;
  • not to stalk, threaten, harass, impersonate, or harm anyone;
  • not to use content for an FCRA-regulated eligibility decision;
  • not to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
  • not to scrape, crawl, or collect content through automated tools; and
  • not to disrupt the site or another visitor's access.

No FCRA-Covered Use

Spencer County Recent Arrests is not a consumer reporting agency and supplies no consumer report or background check. Information from this site or a linked search tool must not be used to decide:

  • credit, lending, or insurance eligibility;
  • employment, hiring, firing, or promotion;
  • housing, leasing, or tenant selection;
  • licenses, permits, security clearance, or public benefits; or
  • any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Outside Links and Providers

Links may point to the Spencer County Sheriff's Office, the Shelby County Jailer, Kentucky courts, the Department of Corrections, VINELink, federal locators, statutes, and private search services. A link does not mean endorsement. We do not control a destination's data, terms, privacy practices, availability, fees, or security.

Service Without Warranties

The site and its content are supplied “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, no express or implied warranty is made. In particular, we do not promise:

  • that information is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a specific need;
  • that access will always be fast, available, or uninterrupted;
  • that pages or systems will be free of faults or harmful code; or
  • that an outside search will locate every relevant record.

Custody can change after transport or release, while court outcomes can change the meaning of an earlier allegation. Verify a detail with the office that created the record.

Limits on Responsibility

To the fullest extent Kentucky law allows, the site, its owners, and contributors will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other loss arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of a linked service.

Indemnification by the User

A visitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the site and its owners against claims, losses, duties, costs, and reasonable legal fees caused by that visitor's misuse of the site or breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Original text, graphics, logos, layout, and code are owned by Spencer County Recent Arrests or the named content provider. They may not be copied, altered, republished, or distributed without prior written permission, except when applicable law allows it.

Terms May Be Revised

We may update these conditions at any time. Changes take effect when the revised text is posted. Continued use after publication means the visitor accepts the new terms.

Access May Be Withdrawn

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, including when use threatens the site, another person, or compliance with these terms.

Kentucky Law Governs

Kentucky law governs these terms without applying conflict-of-law principles. A dispute must be brought in a Kentucky court that has proper jurisdiction. Public-record requests sent to Spencer County or another Kentucky agency remain subject to the Kentucky Open Records Act, including KRS 61.872, and the receiving office's rules.

Severability of These Terms

If a court holds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. The affected language will be limited only to the extent needed for lawful enforcement.
